Here are some open source tools for Microsoft Windows that are helpful when accessing SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise on a Linux or Unix system.

SSH Terminal Emulation

PuTTY – A Free Telnet/SSH Client

MobaXterm – Enhanced terminal for Windows with X11 server & tabbed SSH client, recommended by my co-worker Jason Gardieff

FTP

Filezilla – FTP/SFTP client

WinSCP – FTP/SFTP client, recommended by my friend Jason Gardieff.

  1. Thanks for the tip, James! From their web site (http://winscp.net/), “WinSCP is an open source free SFTP client and FTP client for Windows. Legacy SCP protocol is also supported. Its main function is safe copying of files between a local and a remote computer.”
